about

The Liar by Robert John is a combination of the rock he was brought up with, the blues he’s seeped in and a voice with the gruff melody of both styles combined. The sound of the present mixed with screams from ghosts of yesterday. An accomplished performer, singer-songwriter and whatever genre you put him in, the sound is true and organic; he speaks from his soul.

'A showcase of songwriting at its best and one of the best albums I’ve heard this year. File under exceptional'.
Les Glover - Mudkiss Fanzine

'The Liar as a whole piece is a great debut and will seriously bring Robert John to the forefront of people’s minds'
Danni - Quenched Music

'To melodic to be just rock, too complicated in arrangement to be just blues and too good not to be shared.' 'A breath of fresh air'
Sam Buckley - Now Then

'With a distinctive 1960’s west coast feel, Robert John manages to skilfully combine beautifully crafted melodies with impressive lyrics. The Liar demonstrates how ridiculously talented they are – confessional and grown-up song writing at its best'.
Steph Jones - Manchester Radio Online
